Marie is Tsimshian from Lax Kwa’Alaams, Ganhada (Raven). Her traditional name is Wii Mediik, meaning Grizzly Bear Woman.
Her grandmother went to Crosby Home for Girls, and her mother went to Alert Bay residential school. Marie went to day school and was a child of the sixties scoop.Â
Marie specializes in cedar, medicine, body energy, brushing, moving, and intuitive reading of people and situations. She offers truth-based counselling and support for individuals, families, and groups.
Marie is a certified drug and alcohol counsellor, and is certified in Indigenous Tools for Living.
Marie is able to offer girl’s / women’s coming of age ceremonies, and to support boy’s / men’s coming of age ceremonies.
She is skilled at facilitating women’s discussion groups and women’s art circles, including mandala painting.
Marie is a talented weaver who shares this therapeutic ability with others.
