Every single day I ask Creator and Mother Earth to guide, lead, protect and clear me and my families path.

I ask Creator and Mother Earth to help me and my family to clearly see, learn and understand what lessons they have for us today.

I wake up every single day and face the east and offer tobacco to Creator, Mother Earth and the Sun to help me and my family too see how beautiful this world is and to remember the goodness inside of ourselves.

I push myself very hard and it’s become a beautiful habit, a natural way of life to pray every single day.

Before my Kookum Emily passed onto the next life she said “promise me you will always pray and that you will never stop going to the ceremonies just because I’m not here. If you don’t teach your children, who will teach them?”.

That day I said “I promise you Kookum, I’ll do my best to live a good life and pray. You won’t have to worry about me Kookum, I’ll be a good human being”.

Many times before that my Kookum told me never make a promise unless you mean it. I knew that day it was serious because she always told me to never make promises. I kept my word.

My late dad said “One day you will get to the Creator and he will question your life. In this life we own nothing, only our word”. Our word is our honour, that is all we truly own in this life.
