On Social Media with Traditional Teacher Maureen Morven
Mar 25, 2025Here are some things we have been thinking about for the last while.
We have done a lot of observing in my life & we have watched things change over time.
The Wisdom Keepers of my childhood are all long gone & we are now left with the interruption of residential school teachings of punishment, verbal, emotional & psychological abuse, the social bullying, the crab pot we hear being talked about all the time. We see it on social media all the time & one thing we noticed is that it doesn’t have an age limit. We don’t say that to put anyone down,, we say it as an acknowledgment of where we are at as the human race of this planet.
We have heard the words, “let kids be kids”, we have thought on that a lot. We understand that as kids from 0-7 we are doing the most observing we will ever do in life & we are emulating the behaviors of those around us as we are learning how to survive as a person in this world,,,, & through hopefully “loving guidance” are being shown how to be kind, compassionate & caring to ourselves & others. That’s what “let kids be kids” means.
In this day & age where social bullying, propaganda, alcohol & substance use & waging war against those who don’t follow the crowd mind are the planetary culture, is it really safe to “let kids be kids”? Are we doing enough to understand what the deeper meaning of that is? Are we doing enough to understand our individual influence on it all? Are we doing enough to help the little ones learn how to be secure in who they are in the face of all that?
On any given day we can open up these apps called Facebook, Instagram & any others, & see ppl being taken apart verbally, for whatever reason & sometimes we get surprised as the ones doing it are at the “age” of those we regarded as the wisdom keepers of my childhood. That’s the “wise counsel” they are providing for the young ones.
We see the energy added by others & once again we have to take a moment to pray & put out an energy of clearing for people that Creator will take that, bless it & cleanse it & send it back to everyone as healing & unconditional love.
On any given day we are helping someone understand the experience they are having with negative teachings of others on social media & in person & we help them clear it all on any given day.
We must remember the message we just put out to the world via our orange shirts
“Every child matters”

Every day we must remember that…we cannot participate in spreading that message one day & then treat each other like crap the next. We must remember our message everyday & hold that with integrity & honor our own message by role modeling it.
As always, take what you need & leave the rest
