My English name is Maureen Morven, my
Nisga’a name is Liibaygum An’un and my spirit
name is LightningWoman. I am of the Nisga’a
Village of New Aiyansh and live in the city of
Vancouver. I am of the Ganada clan and come
from the House of Axdii wil Luugooda.

I am what we call a helper to Creator and
Mankind with 20+ years of experience and
learning the traditional healing methods and
medicine of Ancient Traditional Psychology. I am
also a certified reiki practitioner and a western
psychology Life Skills Coach.

I come by my traditional healing teachings via:

  • Being raised with traditional knowledge of healing from my grandfather until I was 19 years of age.
  • 1999 began learning from a Shaman by the name of Patricia B Adams (who happened to be my aunt) until she transitioned to the spirit world in 2005.
  • 2010 I was guided to another Shaman by the name of Frank J. Austin Manyhorses. Manyhorses expanded on all the teachings that Auntie Pat didn’t have time to expand on, until he transitioned into the spirit world in 2016.

I come by my training in the western psychology understanding through Rhodes College where I met the most amazing healer in the western way. Her name is Katarina Osterlund who was my instructor at Rhodes in the Life Skills Coaching Program.

The most interesting thing that I learned about training both ways is that they are both based in experiential learning. Both ways require that one learn to heal their life and maintain it. If diligent about it, one will do well in both areas.

Also, important to note in both trainings I had to learn workshop facilitation which is the main teaching tool to teach and pass on what I now know.

For this work I work with the assistance of the Ancestors, so in that way “I” am “We”.
